Creative upcycling.
This design is inspired by a traditional Japanese motif. It is created using the reverse appliqué technique. The piece combines kimono silk with orange cotton and linen fabric sourced from an upholstery workshop. The embroidery is hand-stitched in the Sashiko style. A machine-stitched satin stitch is used to reinforce certain elements. The reverse side is made from Japanese silk, whilst the interior is lined with feathers.
